The Owen Sound Salmon Spectacular Fishing Derby was a great success again this year. below are a few photos taken during various derby events.

Evening Entertainment...

"A Tribute To Elvis", a great performance brought to the Big Top every year by local enertainer Gary McMillan who has entertained Salmon Spectacular visitors for eight years. 


something for everyone during the derby's ten days and nights. 
   
Derby Fish Fries, serving delicious Georgian Bay salmon nuggets donated by derby participants, are held on both Saturday nights of the derby. The Fish Fries feed approximately 4,500 people over the two Saturdays they are held. 
 
 
 
 

Owen Sound Counsellor Debbie Haswell pitches in to help during the second Salmon Spectacular Fish Fry of the derby which fed over 3,000 people.

Grey-Bruce-Owen Sound MPP Bill Murdoch, who brings the Team Murdoch crew to prepare serve and cook for the second fish fry every year and Carl Noble, Mayor of the South Bruce Peninsula, pitch in to help make the event a success.

At Last!
Senior Hamilton angler Emil Cavdek is shown catching his dinnner at Denny's Dam early in September. He told the Grey/Bruce Outdoors (Grant) that he lives for fishing and would rather eat salmon than anything.
